The Award in Education and Training is designed for individuals who would like to begin the path towards becoming a teacher in Further Education and the Post-Compulsory Sector i.e. teaching ages 16+. The Award in Education and Training provides basic preparation for people entering the profession from September 2007 or those without QTLS Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status who want to begin working towards this. Content will include responsibilities and boundaries of the teaching role, teaching and learning strategies, communication skills, creating an effective learning environment, introduction to assessment, reflection, evaluation and feedback from teaching practice and or micro teaching. How to apply - All prospective applicants must attend one of our Advice and Guidance sessions. These monthly events are hosted by a member of the Teacher Training Team and allow us to explain the various options available. It is also provides an opportunity for those present to ask questions and complete an initial assessment. Details of the next Advice and Guidance session can be found under the Help Enrolling' section at the top of this page. No appointment is necessary and our friendly receptionist will direct you upon your arrival. Please note it is important you arrive promptly for the beginning of the session.
