Functional Skills equips learners with the fundamental applied skills needed to succeed in all aspects of life, work and learning. All three components: Reading, Writing and Speaking, Listening and Communication (SLC) must be achieved. However, because they are each assessed separately they can be completed at different times and different levels. Topics include use of complex sentences, and improving both verbal and written communications. It is formally assessed at end of the programme.
