Watercolour Painting and Drawing - Beginners and Improvers

The course will cover all of the basic drawing skills, including- shape and proportion- perspective- tone and shading and also the main methods of watercolour painting, including masking techniques- wet-in- wet- lifting colour- re-wetting and dry brush techniques. Using photographs and still-life setups as reference, you will learn to develop a painting from sketches to finished painting. You will gain confidence in using various materials, develop personal expression through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstrations and have access to one-to-one support from the tutor. Demonstrations are given by the tutor each week to show different stages of painting

A) Bring a pad of A3 or A4 cartridge paper, pencils (HB, 3B, 6B), charcoal and a soft putty rubber for the first session.
