The aim of the course is to extend language skills to work towards fluency and accuracy. Different topics are covered each term. Topics at Levels 5 and 6 cover a wide range of subjects and may include the following- Discussion of news and current affairs- Films, plays, books, songs, humour (comprehension and discussion of works by popular directors or writers)- Discovering regions in which the language is spoken and their customs and traditions- Learning how to deal with practical aspects of daily life overseas- travelling, working and retiring in the country. Sessions are lively and varied and draw on a range of authentic sources from articles in the press, internet and TV. Reading, writing and consolidation of grammar are also incorporated into the course.
