French - Stage 6 - Term 3

The aim of the course is to refine language skills and develop fluency. Different topics are covered each term. Topics at the higher levels cover a wide range of subjects and may include the following- discussion of news and current affairs- films, plays, books, songs, humour (comprehension and discussion of works by popular directors or writers)- discovering regions of the world in which the language is spoken and their customs and traditions- learning how to deal with practical aspects of daily life overseas- travelling, working and retiring in the country. Sessions are lively and varied and draw on a range of authentic sources from articles in the press, internet and TV. Reading, writing and consolidation of grammar are also incorporated into the course.
