You will engage with a wide range of different kinds of films, developing skills of observation, critical analysis and personal reflection. You will have the ability to develop your creativity and practical skills, by storyboarding and developing films either in audio-visual or written form.In your first year you will attend production and theory classes, as follows: Production: Exploring Film Form • One research project based on an analysis of chosen extract from a film of your choice. You will explore how meaning and responses are produced through an analysis of one or more of the following aspects of film language: cinematography, editing, sound, mise-en-scene and performance. • One creative project – a digital storyboard based on a film sequence or short film. Theory: British and American Film Producers and Audiences of film Topics in British Film US Film In your second year you will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of world cinema, film genre and audiences.
