If you want to work for a wildlife trust, country park or country estate the Environmental Conservation programme could be the one for you. This course will develop your knowledge, practical and technical skills to work within this sector of the land-based industry. Course enrichment activities include visits to local parks, gardens, and local woodland and wild-life habitats. Experience of work, with practical assessments, takes place at local parks and though working with community partner organisations. On this course you will learn about wildlife habitat management, ground preparation and planting, pruning shrubs and trees, health and safety, using and maintaining tools and machinery, You will work as part of a team, out in the community and with children & young people during environmental activities. Approximately 65% of the course is practical and 35% is classroom work. You will also expected to work independently outside class to produce a portfolio of work.
