Health and Social Care BTEC Level 3 Diploma/ Extended Diploma

If you want to develop your knowledge, skills and practical experience to help you prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career and higher education in health or social care one of our level 3 health and social care courses could be for you. The Health and Social Care BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is made up of 18 study units and the Health and Social Care BTEC Level 3 Diploma is made up of 12 study units. You will learn about developing effective communication, professional development, equality, diversity and rights, life- stage development, psychology and sociology for health and social care, anatomy and physiology, promoting health education, nutrition and public health. The Extended Diploma programme will also include an introduction to counselling skills, dealing with challenging behaviour, caring for older people and research project skills. Work experience is a compulsory part of the course. The one day a week placement, arranged with you, is tailored to your future employment or higher education progression. Students usually work in nurseries, schools, nursing homes and day centres; hospital placements are limited. All level 3 students must wear a course placement uniform while at their work placement.
