This course is designed to encourage your understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to care for young children. The programme will also help to develop life skills. Modules studied include •Child development and how children grow and develop. •Caring for young children, •Play and learning in the home for young children and babies, musical activities, craft activities and play and leisure activities in the community. •Responsibilities of young parents, how to build confidence in young children, listening and talking to a young child and showing respect. •Eating healthily •How to look after children and keep them safe, Part of the course will be about learning to develop parenting and life skills and how to interact with children with special educational needs or where English is an additional language. You will also have the opportunity to plan and prepare for the next steps in your learning journey.
