Hairdressing Level 1

This is a vocational course which is designed to introduce you to the hairdressing, industry. You will learn about styling women’s and men’s hair. You will develop skills in shampooing and conditioning, hair plaiting and twisting, styling and dressing hair. You will also cover hair coloring. Part of the course will be learning about reception duties, dealing with customers and developing working relationships. You will also have the opportunity to create some photographic work. You will be given passwords for our online learning materials to support your learning and all assessments will be logged electronically via e portfolio systems.

Name: Hairdressing Level 1 Qualification title: Diploma in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment The course is assessed entirely by coursework so you need to have good time management skills and be able to work to targets and deadlines. Practical assessments will be carried out in the salon following training and practice. Graded assignments form the majority of your assessments. Entry requirements

You will be asked to purchase a uniform which must be worn at all times when in the salon. You will also need to have some key pieces of equipment that will be discussed when you come to the information event.
