This is our most prestigious Maths course You need to be really enthusiastic about Maths, and enjoy hard work, tackling complex problems to fully benefit from studying Further Maths. This course will enhance your understanding of Maths, and give you the skills and confidence needed to take a University Maths degree. AS Further Maths has 3 modules Further Pure 1, which consists of complex numbers, vectors, matrix algebra and further calculus, and Statistics 1 and 2. In your A2 year you will take Further Pure 2 and Further Pure 3, together with Decision Maths For more details of Statistics and Decision Maths see A Level Maths. Altogether, you will end up taking 12 Maths modules over the 2 years, and should be spending 10 hours per week on Maths homework Taking Maths and Further Maths is a strong combination, and both are classed by the top universities as facilitating subjects, which means they will help you progress to competitive courses such as Medicine, Aeronautical Engineering, Physics and Economics as well as to Maths degrees. Many universities will make you a better offer if they see you are studying Further Maths. The East London Further Maths Centre is based here, at Tower Hamlets College, and we have a lot of experience of supporting learners in taking their Maths further.
