Course description This course is the next step in becoming a counsellor. It will teach you more of the counselling theories and about agency work. You must have GCSE English grade C and above and Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills in order to enrol About the tutor Your tutor is a qualified teacher and counsellor and has been approved by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body to teach this qualification Course content and outcomes While your personal objectives will be discussed and agreed at the first session, you can expect that during the course you will learn to: • Prepare to work within an ethical framework for counselling • Understand the counselling relationship • Understand difference and diversity issues to develop empathic understanding • Work within a user-centred approach to counselling • Use counselling theory to develop self-awareness in counselling practice • Understand theories of counselling and mental health • Use feedback, reflection and supervision to support counselling studies How will I learn? You will learn through a series of lectures, videos, presentations, discussions, group work and triads the theory and skills to work with and support others. Please note: The course is experiential and you will be asked to further explore your own values and beliefs in order to achieve the outcomes. This course is not suitable for learners who are depressed or have mental health issues.
