Course description An introduction to double entry book-keeping and day to day tasks running and working within the business environment. Owners of small businesses may also find this qualification useful in day to day running of their business. Course content and outcomes The IAB Level 2 Award in Bookkeeping is aimed at individuals who wish to begin their studies of double entry bookkeeping and gain an entry level qualification to the professional qualification Level 3. You will cover the following areas: • Principles of recording and processing financial transactions • Professional values and basic business legislation • Principles of VAT • Banking procedures, maintaining the journal, processing ledger transactions and extracting a trial balance • Maintaining control accounts How will I learn? It will be taught classes with regular home study to consolidate the lesson taught in class. Assessment methods Internal and external assessment methods.
