To provide training in a range of practical skills and knowledge through practical learning at the Equine Centre and classroom study. The course is suited to people with a commitment to horse care and an aspiration to work with horses. Learners will undertake the following units on the programme: £Work related experience in the horse industry £Principles of feeding and watering £Routine stable duties £Horse handling £Caring for competition horses £Riding horses on the flat £Principles of horse biology During the year students will have the opportunity to take additional courses such as the BHS Riding and Road Safety certificate. The course will also ensure maths and English skills are at a standard acceptable to employers.
