Extended Diploma in Forestry (QCF)

To provide a qualification reflecting the skills and knowledge needed by today£s forestry and arboricultural industries. The course is designed to produce skilled personnel appropriate for the industries, and in the case of forestry, with an emphasis on lowland woodland management. Areas common to both Forestry and Arboriculture will be studied together with a range of specialist units for each. Supervisory and business management skills are also covered, therefore providing for the career objectives of a self employed contractor, as well as the role of foreman and other supervisory opportunities. The course could include additional skills and qualifications to enhance your employability and your CV. Students are encouraged to take the opportunity of work in industry between the two academic years.
