The course offers a balance of IT and business skills which allow a practical understanding of how industry works, whilst supported by IT. In addition to technical skills, learners will also develop the ability to communicate and present themselves effectively within this industry. The department offers the most up-to-date software, preparing the learners for the requirements of the workplace. A successful student will make a commitment to produce work to a high standard and develop strong computer and problem solving skills, and will also show evidence of an interest in the IT / Computing Business. They will be expected to work independently outside of class and use different techniques to produce assignment work. The department is a Microsoft and CISCO approved academy, allowing learners access to the most up-to-date software, within college or at home. An emphasis on business skills gives the learner a broad skills set.
