A two year course to complete A Level, or one year to complete AS Level. This course introduces the five main areas of Psychology: developmental (children), social (people), cognitive (thoughts), behavioural (behaviours), and biological (physical systems). It also covers research methods used in psychological investigations. Lecturers have studied Psychology at degree level and have other professional qualifications (in areas such as counselling and exam board marking) to contribute to their knowledge and understanding of course content. Lecturers also have established good communication links with universities to provide extra information and advice on psychological careers for students. A successful Psychology student has a genuine interest in explaining human behaviour and consequently, has the ability to apply what they learn in class to their own situation. In recent field trips we have visited the Science Museum and the Freud Museum in London, and discovered more about Freud and Psychoanalysis on a trip to Vienna.
