The BTEC pathway provides a viable alternative to the traditional A Level Science route. It enables students to develop an understanding from a vocational context in order to see how Science works in the £real-world£ and developing knowledge and skills that can be used in the industry. Staff with a range of interests, and areas of expertise, deliver across the Applied Science pathways. Lecturers have knowledge and skills gathered from both academic studies and industrial experience. The laboratories are fully equipped with additional facilities in our Sparsholt campus. Students who flourish on the Applied Science courses are passionate about their chosen area and are keen to go beyond the classroom whether it is out of personal interest or for career purposes. Science is, and should be, hands-on so students are expected to fully engage with practical experiments.
