AS Photography (PT)

UPDATED 20150119 03:40:49

This AS course delivers a dynamic introduction to photography techniques and processes. You will experience both Digital and Wet Room photography, Studio Lighting, Photoshop, Camera Techniques, Composition, Presentation and Printing. You will also research both Historical and Contemporary Photography to support your studies. The A2 course builds and extends skills from AS, and is more individual and personalised to the students chosen direction. Additional extended workshops are delivered as part of the programme. The photography section offers the opportunity to work with wet photography, in the darkroom, although most camera work is digital. Opportunities are offered to our students from local employers to undertake external projects. We also encourage our students to submit work to regional competitions. The AS course is fast paced, and so we expect our students to be engaged and self-motivated. Previous photographic skill is not necessary, however an interest in creativity is. You will take part in both on site and location shoots, and are expected to have your own camera. Sessions consist of practical investigation and development, and we expect additional written work to support your outcomes. A2 students will demonstrate a greater independence and maturity in their photographic investigation.
