A two year course to complete A Level, or one year to complete AS Level. Students will develop performance skills (solo and / or ensemble), compose music and learn about harmony (the basics at AS and stylistic studies at A2). They will build up their aural and analytical skills by studying selections from the £New Anthology of Music£ and wider listening. The Music Academy offers a range of practice rooms and a large recital room. All staff in the academy are experienced musicians in a wide variety of instruments and vocalists. In addition to being hard working and having the necessary musical performing and theoretical background, the successful student would need to be interested in classical music and learning how music works. Students will join in lunch time and evening performances throughout the year at various venues in Andover.
