The Access to Higher Education Diploma (Social Sciences and Humanities Pathway) is a one-year fast-track course that allows anyone who has left school without the right qualifications to apply to university. The course will equip you with the tools you need to study at degree level. Assessment will mainly take place through coursework assignments, including practical laboratory work, written reports, presentations, essays, short tests and independent project work. Achievement is recognised through the award of credits, a minimum number of which must be achieved at both levels 2 and 3. For each unit successfully completed you will earn credits that build towards the 60 credits you require to complete your Access to HE Diploma. Entry requirements

You will need stationery, a scientific calculator and geometry set (for the maths aspect). You may also choose to purchase text books or borrow these from The Brook Centre at the Chadwell Heath Campus. Laboratory coats will be required for practical work, and these can be borrowed from the science laboratories.
