Electricity is used in a wide range of applications, such as manufacturing, healthcare, transport and entertainment. All of these are reliant on electrical technology in one form or another. For example, for someone to be able to visit a holiday destination, go to a music festival or download the latest track by their favourite performer, numerous electrical activities and concepts must be coordinated. Electrical technology provides the link between science and its application. It is underpinned by a range of enabling technologies and concepts such as materials science, energy efficiency, environmental impact, geological characteristics and design.
