This course is intended to build up your skills for employment and help to prepare you for progression onto an accredited course. Course Description: Counsellors help people to explore feelings and emotions that are often related to their experiences. This allows their clients to reflect on what is happening to them and consider alternative ways of doing things. This short course offers a brief overview of counselling as a helping relationship. What will I learn? We will look at different styles of counselling with a focus on the person-centred model; listening skills; and some core conditions of counselling (empathy, acceptance, and genuineness)
