What is the qualification about? An Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector provides an introduction to teaching and training adults. It is an essential first step towards practitioner status - a licence to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (England), as well as being relevant to other nations. Who is it for? This Award is for new entrants to the lifelong learning sector who do not have prior teaching experience or qualifications. It also suits people already working in the area who want to gain an official qualification. You should have an idea of what subject you would like to teach and either have, or be working towards, a level three qualification in that area. The course will be offered over 20 weeks via blended learning which means classroom taught based seminars, workshops, tutorials and web-based learning. You will need to have an attendance of 85% and pass all the assignments and case studies AND will be expected to complete 2-3 hours of homework per week. Learners will have a face to face interview and also pass a level two literacy test. Learners must be 19+.
