This is an entry level, work-related vocational diploma. It will introduce you to the different employment areas within the food prep and cookery sector and food and beverage sector. You will learn about preparation and cookery in areas for vegetables, meat, poultry, bakery, as well as learning about front of house styles of service, bar tendering, tills systems etc. The course will assessed through a combination of assignments, observations, projects and completion of a portfolio of evidence. You will also have access to the college’s latest multi-media facilities and enjoy work placements such as our own in house cafes, kitchens or even at the Academy sites. IHG will be offering site visits, mentoring by IHG staff and presentations by their Human Resource departments, CV writing and interviews.
