You will learn about the following aspects of hairdressing and will become skilled in each area: - Effective client consultation, to promote services and products within a salon environment - Professional knowledge of hair/skin diseases and disorders - Procedures for maintaining a safe environment within a hairdressing salon By the end of the course, you will have the ability to choose and advise on the correct shampoo and conditioner for a variety of hair types. You will learn about various massage techniques for shampooing and treatment services, which help clients maintain healthy hair / scalp conditions. You will also gain skills in discussing and interpreting the wishes of clients, when choosing hairstyles to suit both men and women's hair. You will become familiar with enhancing style choices through the use of colour. There will be a focus on developing and practising en-vogue styles, through the art of dressing both women and men's hair. You will also learn about creating facial hair designs to compliment men's hairstyles. During the course you will create an image, based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector. This course will enable you to work on both European and Afro hair types, creating a range of styles through various techniques. You will develop your skills in preparation for work as a junior stylist.
