An allocated an Assessor will visit you to carry out observations of your work and help you to identify relevant evidence of your knowledge of, and competence in care. Acacia Training and Development often offers learners additional courses prior to an apprenticeship that can help build knowledge towards the QCF, or upgrade functional skills as required. There is a set of mandatory units which cover all the generic knowledge, principles and practice in care, and a set of optional units which are chosen to specifically match your job role, such as specialising in Dementia or Learning Disability. There are also set pathways for those that work in these specific areas.
