The UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design is a pivotal qualification which provides a transition from general education to specialist art and design education, enabling the learner to make an informed decision when applying to art and design higher education or seeking employment within a related industry in the UK. The course will enable learners to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification framework and also within the real world by taking part in site specific briefs/live briefs to give each student real work experience when working with employers, either in partnerships or on commission based outcomes. The course will also increase confidence in the use of concepts, media and vocabulary. Creating a stimulating, demanding yet relevant curriculum which improves the skills needed to succeed in HE and employment.
