IT for Beginners

Discussion and question and answer sessions will provide you with the knowledge to use a computer correctly. Practical exercises will provide new students with the experience of using a mouse and keyboard and will build confidence in using IT equipment. You will learn how to produce a simple poster in Word. This will include basic formatting such as Bold, Italic and Underline. You will be able to add images to the poster and save and print the posters created. You will gain experience of navigating the Internet and searching effectively for information. Exercises may include local information such as what#1s on at the cinema, looking up information about a hobby or interest, or searching for a holiday. You will have the opportunity to set up your own email account and learn how to send, receive and reply to email. You will be able to send emails with data attached, such as pictures, images and text files.
