A-Level Graphic Design Students will explore a range of topics including typography, branding, poster design and book cover design on this exciting and stimulating course. A-Level Textiles Students will learn from the work of practising textile and fashion designers, exploring textile and fashion specialisms such as print, knit, weave, macramé, embroidery, embellishment and moulage. A-Level Photography Students will have the opportunity to utilise our fully equipped darkrooms, to produce their own black and white stimulating experimental imagery. There is the opportunity to use a wide range of camera equipment, both digital and film. A-Level Fine Art Students will experiment with abstract, figurative and symbolic approaches to visual communication using a whole range of approaches including drawing, painting and printmaking. This course offers students the opportunity to discover how to communicate ideas and meanings in an expressive and personal manner. A-Level Sociology Topics students will cover include: socialisation, culture and identity, social differentiation, power and stratification. This course offers students the opportunity to develop the essential knowledge and understanding of central aspects of sociological thoughts and methods. A-Level English Language Students will explore the ways English Language is developed and has changed, and have the opportunity to produce their own piece of creative writing and an investigation into language. A-Level Psychology Students will explore social, cognitive and psychological development and discover techniques for collating and analysing data. The course will give students a very real and valuable insight into how people think and what motivates them. A-Level History of Art This course offers students the opportunity to explore the very real influences art and design and the growth of society have had on each other throughout history.
