This course has been designed to enhance the students’ vehicle service and repair skills, knowledge and understanding to level 2. This programme will provide continued theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by potential vehicle technicians. Students successfully completing all units of study will have mastered the intermediate mechanical skills needed for work on various vehicle systems and have an understanding of the related technology. While the qualification is recognised in its own right, it is also directly linked to the achievement of Apprenticeships and provides students with the technical certificate portion of an Apprenticeships framework. Practical skills and knowledge delivered by demonstration and practical assignments in the workshop. Theoretical knowledge delivered by classroom tuition, guided assignments, Information Learning Technology (ILT), and personal study.In addition to your main programme, you will study English and maths. Depending on your grades on entry, you will study either Functional Skills or GCSEs English and maths (one per year).
