The course is suitable for all ages and aims to provide a broad knowledge of competence-based woodworking skills. The programme covers a wide range of skills relating to furniture manufacture, traditional and modern. You will be working towards Level 1 and 2 in the first year and 2 and 3 in the second year. Practical workshop sessions are combined with class tuition and computer-aided learning to help build a portfolio of evidence. There are end of unit written assignments for each unit and practical work is designed to meet the practical requirements for these units. In addition to your main programme, you will study English and maths. Depending on your grades on entry, you will study either Functional Skills or GCSEs English and maths (one per year).
