If you want to learn more about sport and outdoor activities, but do not yet have any experience then this is the course for you. This course provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in sport and outdoor adventure in preparation for employment or further study. You will achieve a qualification which is equivalent to 4 GCSEs (Grade C and above). Modules will include the study of anatomy and physiology, fitness and training and leadership skills. It also helps to develop your personal level or fitness and aims to challenge whilst allowing you time to develop, grow and excel. The course combines both theory and practical work, spending at least one day per week in the outdoors putting that theory into practice, activities may include some of the following; canoeing, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, ropes courses, orienteering and mountain walking. Sport, exercise and fitness students may also have the chance to participate in activities such as athletics, football and rugby. You also have the chance to attend at least two residential trips per year.
