This one year certificated programme of study is suitable for beginners or those who have previously studied health and social care at Level 1 equivalent and who wish to develop a career in caring, nursing or social care. This course comprises of eight units. The course aims to build confidence and is structured, giving the opportunity to develop a more personal approach to caring. Students will initially cover basic caring modules such as communication and individual rights and needs in health and social care. Students will then be introduced to more specialised units covering subjects such as the impact of diet on health and human development. A vocational unit will enable students to gain valuable work experience in health and care settings during the course. Students will also study other qualifications in subjects such as emergency aid.
