Biomedical Scientist Registration Training

Science graduates MUST have an IBMS accredited Biomedical Science Degree with a minimum of a 2nd Class Honours. You will be trained in the basics with regards to Medical Laboratory procedures. You must be able to show competence in the relevant units. On completion of Part 1, you will be eligible to move on to Part II, which will involve training in an approved IBMS hospital laboratory. You will complete the IBMS logbook and be expected to pass the interview during the external verification session. Once you pass you will be provided with a certificate , with which you can then apply to the HCPC to join the Biomedical Scientist register.
