Advanced Apprenticeship in IT Application Specialist

This Apprenticeship teaches you many technical skills that will enable you to work within the IT industry. There are many, varied roles in IT covering technical support, coding/programming and design. We work with a vast range of IT employers including computer repair companies and graphic/interactive design agencies. IT plays a big part in almost all organisations so it is important that companies are able to keep technologies up to date, fix any problems and stay on top of tech trends. This makes both the business processes and customer's user expeience easier. As an IT apprentice your job role will mostly depend on your employer. Currently we have many Apprentices working within design agencies, some in design roles creating marketing campaigns and materials or websites and others in developer roles such as web developers. Other IT roles include those in IT support, such as providing support within a School, working on the helpdesk of an IT support company or repairing computers. The skills you learn whilst undertaking an IT Apprenticeship are transerrable to other jobs within the industry and provide a great stepping stone into an exciting and growing industry. EXAMPLE JOB ROLES IT Helpdesk Support IT Supervisor Website Manager QUALIFICATIONS The Intermediate Apprenticeship in IT Application Specialist consists of the following: Level 3 ITQ Diploma in IT User Skills (QCF) Level 3 Functional Skills in ICT Level 2 Functional Skills in Application of Number Level 2 Functional Skills in Communication Employment Rights and Responsibilities Booklet You may be exempt from some of the above depending on previous qualifications.

If you're not exempt from English, IT and/or Maths, you'll need to come to our Training Centre to do your functional skills preparation, revision and exams. Every effort will be made to make sure that any training outside of your workplace is carried out at a convenient time for you and your employer.
