Keep Fit for Over 50s How will this course help me? This course aims to promote physical fitness and a positive attitude to health through a balanced programme of movement. Who is the course for? For anyone wishing to develop and maintain their mobility, agility, strength, stamina, balance and coordination. If you have been referred by a health professional you are encouraged to explore the full range of options and opportunities open to you. What can I expect to Learn? The course will include a balanced programme of movement and exercise to music. Each session will include warm up and cool down activities and movement routines with demonstrations by the tutor. Improve your health and well being Develop and maintain your mobility, balance and mental co-ordination. How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? You should wear loose clothing and soft soled footwear or trainers. Learners are discouraged from eating a large meal before the class begins. You will need to complete a confidential Initial Health Assessment questionnaire. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee.
