Guitar – Improve Your Skills How will this course help me? You will learn to play various pieces of music and different chords, tune up your guitar and how to replace strings. Who is the course for? This course is for those with some experience and who want to improve their skills. What can I expect to learn? Develop skills in finger picking styles. Develop skills in 3 basic chords and strum patterns Tune your guitar and replace strings Health and safety aspects will be covered. Improve your guitar playing skills. How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practise at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? You will need to bring a 6 string guitar in fair condition with no strings missing. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next? A variety of Get Creative courses are available.
