Get On- Introduction to Working in the Travel Industry How will this course help me? For learners who want to work in the travel industry. This course will give you a Level 1 qualification. Who is the course for? Learners in receipt of JSA or ESA and learners who do not have a Level 2 qualification in English What can I expect to learn? Learn the roles and responsibilities in the UK travel and tourism industry Look at skills and qualities required for the job roles Plan for career in travel Know why customer service is important Learn the needs of different types of customers Learn good customer service How will I learn? Practical demonstration, role play, small group work, observations, verbal and written questions and answers. All evidence produced will be compiled into a portfolio to gain the qualification. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. If you think that you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the centre staff. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. Your tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring along a pen or pencil and note pad. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next? You may want to come on some of our other Get On courses or to progress on to a course with a qualification like English or maths. Discuss your next steps with your tutor or the Centre staff.
