Spanish Advanced Who is the course for? This course is designed for people who have successfully completed an Intermediate course (or similar). What can I expect to learn? You will be able to: give a presentation on a chosen theme and respond readily to questions understand the main points of an authentic spoken passage involving one or more speakers understand authentic written texts of moderate lengths and complexity and produce a summary covering the majority of points structure writing to produce a coherent text in an appropriate register for specific purpose e.g. a letter to an employer or an account of a visit. The course will cover a variety of topics which will be agreed with the tutor at the first session. A variety of communicative activities will be used such as: role play, games and listening to audio files. How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practise at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practise in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring a pen and paper along with you. You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next? You may wish to progress to the next term of the Advanced course. Discuss your next steps with your tutor or the Centre staff.
