Yoga – Intermediate How will this course help me? This course will extend your experience of Yoga and further improve your posture, flexibility and wellbeing. Who is the course for? This course is for anyone wanting to further their practice and understanding of Yoga. If you have been referred by a health professional you are encouraged to explore the full range of options and opportunities open to you. What can I expect to Learn? The aims of the course are to: Develop flexibility Develop breath control Develop a heightened sense of mind and body harmony The course includes practice in: Limbering, stretching and posture (modified as necessary) Breathing techniques Movement and breath coordination Relaxation and concentration How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Please wear loose clothing and bring a mat or blanket. You are discouraged from eating a large meal before the class begins. You will need to complete a confidential Initial Health Assessment questionnaire. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee.
