Art – Painting & Drawing Mixed Media How will this course help me? This course will develop your practical creative skills and confidence through working in a variety of media. Who is the course for? This course is for beginners to the subject and those with some experience. What can I expect to Learn? Developing individual practical projects Develop skills in the use of pastels Develop skills in using watercolours and its uses in mixed media Using a variety of media e.g. acrylics, pencil, crayon, charcoal and inks to realise creative intentions Health and safety aspects associated with this subject area. How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring any art materials you may already have. Basic course materials are available at the centre for the first session if required. Please wear old clothes or bring a shirt as you may get messy! Will there be any other costs? You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. Your tutor will advise you of any additional materials you may wish to purchase. What can I do next?
