Belly Dancing All Abilities How will this course help me? This course will help to develop fitness levels and to experience of different styles of dance with props for self-expression and creativity Who is the course for? All abilities What can I expect to learn? The student will learn a variety of dance styles related to Belly dancing Bollywood dancing Cabaret Exotic Belly dancing drawing upon styles of Egyptian, Turkish and oriental dance forms. Bollywood style relating to Indian – as seen in the classic films. Cabaret and exotic mixed – similar to that seen in clubs/stage. How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Learners will need to complete a confidential Initial Health Assessment questionnaire. Please dress in appropriate attire for exercise. Wear trainers and bring a drink too. At each session there will be a focus on a particular dance style. Tutor will advise of any props that may aid your enjoyment of the course (old sarong, length of material for veil, arm bangles or bracelets, ankle chains, old scarves). If you have been referred by a health professional you are encouraged to explore the full range of options and opportunities open to you. Your tutor may be able to give you advice on other activities and pursuits which may be beneficial to your general wellbeing and lifestyle.
