Family Cookery How will this course help me? To introduce adults and children to healthy eating, and to give them an insight into basic nutrition whilst having plenty of fun. To raise awareness of food safety and hygiene. Who is the course for? A fun, practical course where adults and children work together to develop cookery skills. What can I expect to Learn? Making fun foods such as gingerbread men, pizza, healthy snacks Increasing awareness of safe use of kitchen equipment Gaining knowledge of health and hygiene in the kitchen. How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring along a pen and notepad - should you wish to make notes. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next? Adults and children may wish to join other Family Learning courses or adults can progress to further learning courses themselves. The tutor will advise.
