What qualification will I achieve? VRQ Diploma Level 2 in Barbering What will I study? This is an intensive training programme allowing you to obtain an VRQ Diploma Level 2. You will study the following units: • Follow health and safety practice in the salon • Client consultation for hair services • Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp • Promote products and services to clients in a salon • Colour and lighten hair • Cut men’s hair • Cut facial hair • Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector • Display stock to promote sales in the salon • Salon reception duties • Styling men’s hair You will also be required to participate in compulsory in-house College competitions. Where will I study? You will study at Barnsley College, Old Mill Lane Site, Church Street, Barnsley, S70 2AX 16 – 18 year olds Full-time Barnsley College students aged 16-18 years old do not have to pay tuition fees. However, if the course is listed as full fee payable, fee waivers do not apply. 19+ Students You may be eligible for free or reduced course fees.
