Many of the novels of Dickens, Jane Austen and Thackeray have been brought to the stage and screen in authentic period dress of the 19th century. This is an exciting opportunity to learn how to reproduce the hats worn by the men, women and children of this period., Beginners will be introduced to the styles and methods of production of the period, but if you have existing skills, you will be encouraged to research the period and develop your design skills alongside your technical abilities. Returning students can continue their own research and further their individual project work. All students will be encouraged to pursue their own project work where appropriate. To achieve the learning outcomes each term, you must complete modules 1 and 2., , The course is suitable for anyone interested in the subject. No previous experience is required.,
