Classical Spanish Dance

Three Sundays: 1st February, 8th February and 22nd March 2015, Classical Spanish Dance is performed in ballet shoes, and also in flamenco or character shoes, with castanets and sometimes capes or fans. Drawing on a mixture of ballet and regional Spanish dance, this workshop is ideal for ballet students and for flamenco students with a ballet background. All students will have access to the Morley Moodle Flamenco & Spanish Dance Site with information about the rhythms and dances studied and video links for practise purposes.

Entry requirements

Ballet shoes. Character or Flamenco shoes or shoes with a small heel, preferably Cuban heels (no stilettos). Shoes must be securely attached to feet. Long, flared skirt and a shorter ballet or character type skirt (women); track suit trousers and tights or leggings (men and women). A fitted top or leotard (no baggy sweatshirts, please). A notebook for keeping a journal record of learning. Bottled water (screw-top). Equipment required Ballet shoes.
