Textiles Foundation

Suitable for students wishing to progress to a degree in textiles or a related subject, or to study textiles in depth for a year for personal development and fulfilment. The course includes drawing, design skills, constructed, dyed, printed and embellished processes together with contextual studies. The course is 2 days per week Monday 10 - 5pm and Tuesday 10 - 4pm. Students are expected to spend at least 10 hours per week engaged in independent study to enable the completion of all work leading up to assessments. These take place twice per term, apart from the Summer term when assessment is at the end of the course. Students are taught by a number of specialist tutors with expertise across the required spectrum of art and design. Students curate and hang their final project in the Morley Gallery.
