Explore the rich artistic heritage of India over a period of 2,000 years from ancient to modern times. Learn how to analyse different styles and compositions of Indian art forms within historical and religious contexts like miniature paintings, sculpture, textiles and decorative arts. Material includes Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Sikh, modern and contemporary Indian art with object handling sessions from the lecturer's collection and gallery visits to the British Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum.
