For students who have a good knowledge of basic jewellery making techniques wishing to develop their own ideas and improve their skills to a professional level. Students should have attended jewellery making classes regularly for a year and feel confident to work independently. Visual research and the development of original ideas are an important aspect of this course.

The studio is well equipped with tools and machinery but you will need to purchase your own silver, gold, stones etc to complete your projects, also once established you will be expected to provide your own saw blades and drill bits. Base metals are provided. You should bring a sketchbook with your design ideas and a pencil/ pen for taking notes. You should also bring an apron and wear sensible footwear, no open toed sandals. Advice and guidance will be given on where to buy suitable materials.
